Sacred Heart Primary School is committed to child safety.
We believe all children have the right to feel safe and to be safe.

Acknowledgement of Traditional Custodians

Sacred Heart acknowledges the traditional custodians
of the land on which this school is built.
We commit ourselves to working in partnership with
Aboriginal people for reconciliation and justice.

Christ our companion we dedicate our prayer today to
Dan, Hannah, Eliza and Grace Dowling,
their extended family and friends.

In this time of sadness at Queenie’s passing,
we give thanks for all the goodness in the Dowling family.

Do not let them lose sight of their beauty and gifts
Help them to remember the good times
Hold them in your love, strength and peace.

May the peace of God live in our hearts
May the light of God shine in our darkness
May the comfort of God soothe our pain
May God be a strong rock on whom we can rely.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am very happy to announce that all students will be returning to school this Friday, 22nd of October.  This is wonderful news.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to our whole school community. These have been very challenging circumstances for all of us and finally there is some light leading us out of the tunnel.

A reminder that our students from grade 3 to 6 are required to wear masks. Parents we would be grateful for you to supply masks and help us reiterate to everyone these are precautions to keep everyone safe. We also understand there are a number of lawful reasons why some of our students and staff cannot wear a mask and we will always remain open and responsive to individual needs.

I would like to express our thanks to all families that completed the survey in the development of our new strategic plan. Your voice is very important to us and helps ensure a collective responsibility in Sacred Hearts future direction.

As the new restrictions are lifted our hopes and prayers are focused on bringing  our community together once again to celebrate the importance of being together.

I miss you all

Take Care everyone

Sacraments
We will now be having the ceremony for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist on Friday Nov 12th at 6.30 pm on the basketball court here at school. Due to government restrictions and QR code and check-in expectations numbers will be limited. Each candidate will be allowed to bring their sponsor and another 2 guests. Therefore, it is 3 guests per family.

We hope all candidates will be able to attend. If this date does not suit please contact me asap and we will arrange for your child to make their Sacraments at a weekend mass.
A more detailed note will be sent to families later in the week.
I am confirming dates with Fr Steve for Reconciliation and will be in touch with those families this week also.

Christian Meditation, Win the Morning Win the Day.
We began our day with whole school Christian meditation this morning as we do every Tuesday and Wednesday. After our prayer the children are asked to Win the Morning Win the Day by thinking about something, they are grateful for. It is a great way to start our day for both children and adults alike.

Sacred Heart Parish Mass
Father Steve has added an extra mass to the weekend. Numbers are capped at 20 so it is very important that you book in by contacting Rikarla at the presbytery PH 57443030 or via email shchurchyarra@bigpond.com

          Saturday -  6.30pm
          Sunday -    8.00am
          Sunday -    9.00am

We are currently having a fundraiser for the Yarrawonga Men’s Shed. Gary from the shed has made our boomerangs for us, plus a collection of other wooden items we will be using in the next few weeks. They cannot accept payment directly for these, but can take donations. We have for sale Dog and Cat toys for $1 each, all money raised will go directly to the Shed.

School Holiday Program
The only thing holding us back now is Staff, do you know anyone who could help?
The YMCA is looking for staff to help us over the summer vacation period.
This is suitable for school leavers, uni students on break, or any one else who could do with a little extra income for a few weeks.
We can offer a possible 20+ hours a week.
This could be ongoing as a casual, when extra staff are needed. (You do not need a formal qualification to work, you can work for 6 months before this is required)
Please send contact details with resume/information to Jo Kingston at sacredheartyarrawongaoshc@ymca.org.au

Mr Price AKA "The Lolly Thief" was especially spoilt for his last birthday that he will celebrate at Sacred Heart with enough lollies to sink a boat!
Great excitement as finally
