Principals Report

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 4! It’s been lovely to catch up with our students and hear of all their exciting holiday adventures.

We return to school with a busy yet exciting term ahead. We have several excursions, camps, sporting events and most importantly…Sacraments! It’s a great feeling to be back to a sense of pre-Covid normality.

We have waited a long two years to be able to take part in our Sacramental program again and we can’t wait to celebrate with the students and their families. The weekend of November 5th and 6th will see students in Years 4, 5 and 6 receive the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. These masses will be held in the MPB.

A reminder hats need to be worn in Term 4 as part of our SunSmart policy.

Also, a reminder dropoff time in the morning is after 8:30. Before 8:30, staff are preparing for the day and there are no staff supervising the school yard. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Take care,

Arn.

Reconciliation
Our Year 4 student’s will be making their First Reconciliation on Wednesday October 19th at 9.30 am at Sacred Heart Church. Fr Henry Onyirioha who is our visiting priest in Fr Steve’s absence will be assisted by Fr Michael Morley.
The children have been prepared for this sacrament for a long time and they are very excited for this opportunity. It is a very special sacrament and a great way to lead into their First Eucharist /Confirmation.
If there are students in Year 5 or 6 who are yet to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and would like to take part in this ceremony please let me know ASAP.

Confirmation Eucharist
Some students in Year 4,5 and 6 will be receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist on the 5 and 6th of Nov. These celebrations are always made even more special by the students in other year levels being part of the choir. If your child would like to be part of the choir for either the Sat evening or Sunday morning or both ceremonies could you please let me know via email. We strongly encourage siblings of the candidates to join the choir as well.

Have a great week everyone and stay dry,

Meegan McInness

NEWS FROM THE Y
Welcome everyone to Term 4. The year is flying by only 11 weeks until the next Holiday program, 12 weeks to Christmas, and 13 weeks until the new year.
During the Spring holiday program some of the children helped to choose which countries we will look at during the Summer holiday program by using our interactive globe.
We are enjoying the few sunny days we have been getting, and taking as much time outside as possible. Bringing drawing, and other activities outside to work on.
The most popular sports at the moment are basketball, soccer and cricket.
Being school holidays, we went to the movies to see “DC Super League of Pets”, followed by activities based on the movie. We learnt a lot about New Zealand, dinosaurs and some new hand crafts.

With the return of Term 4 the children will need to wear their Hats and sunscreen again at afterschool care.
This term: our long term project for Term 4 will be an “ART SHOW” last week of term.
We will be working on special pieces all term to include in our own show

Next Week: we will have activities based on individual child’s choices.
Monday 10/10 Tuesday 11/10 Wednesday 12/10 Thursday 13/10 Friday 14/10
Paddy’s choice Beth’s choice Odie’s Choice Murphy’s choice Max’s choice

We will continue this for the term so every child has a turn of 'choice of the day'.
