Principals Report

Dear Parents

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine today.

Thank you all for your understanding with Buses being cancelled last week due to the rain.

It is hard to believe the devastation the floods have caused in many of our neighbouring regional towns.  The media reports can be very confronting so we ask as advised by the Australian Red cross to  ‘Try to minimise the distressing images or verbal media reports children are exposed to. If children are watching or listening to reports of emergencies, be with them to help them make sense of the situation – they need your perspective, guidance and reassurance.’

Today marks a very special day for our year 4 students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Jesus comforts us. He strengthens us on our journey. Through this sacrament the Church celebrates Jesus’ gift of forgiveness. Please keep all our students in your thoughts and prayers

Our grade 6 students and staff had a wonderful time on their Canberra Camp.  We have had so many positive reports of students behaviour, engagement and respectfulness they showed to those around them.  You should be very proud of them all.

Our Grade 4’s head off to Harrietville on Monday for their two night camp. We wish them all a wonderful trip and that they enjoy the many adventures and experiences a camp brings.

Have a wonderful week

Take care,

Arn.

Catholic Identity Report
Congratulations to our Year Four students and our three, Year Five students who made the Sacrament of Reconciliation this morning. It was a special liturgy and Fr Henry and Fr Michael were very impressed by the children's participation. It was wonderful to have so many family members able to join the children.
This is an important step towards the children receiving the next Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist which are fast approaching. A note with important information about  Spirit Day and the ceremony will be sent home this week to all children making the Sacraments.
Congratulations to the following children for making their Reconciliation today.

A Message from Yarrawonga College P-12 regarding Adhoc Bus Travel

Families must seek prior approval from Yarrawonga College P-12 at least 24 hours before travel is required. All school buses are currently close to or at capacity and although ad hoc travel can usually be managed, it is certainly not guaranteed.

Paperwork needs to be submitted and approval sought from both the School Bus Program Coordinator (Yarrawonga College P-12) as well as the bus operator to ensure there is room on the bus and that accurate travel records are maintained in case of emergencies/incidents.

The Adhoc travel form can be downloaded here https://www.education.vic.gov.au/PAL/form-2-application-for-permission-to-travel-adhoc.docx.
Once completed the form needs to be submitted to Yarrawonga College P-12 for processing and approval.

Yarrawonga College P-12 will notify you directly once travel is approved.

Registered bus travellers are only registered for their own bus, so all registered bus travellers needing to utilise a different service from their usual bus are also required to complete an Ad Hoc Form and submit to Yarrawonga College P-12 at least 24 hours prior to travel.

Please note that ad hoc travel can only be managed for Victorian travel through the School Bus Program Coordinator. Students that need to utilise NSW Buses will need to make arrangements via https://transportnsw.info/school-travel-apply

Please do not hesitate to contact the office on 57443339 if you have any questions or require assistance.

NEWS FROM THE Y

Week 3 already. Wow, how time flies.
This term: our long term project for term 4 will be an “ART SHOW” last week of term
 Monday 12th Dec – Thursday 15th Dec
The children are loving the idea and many are working on art pieces for the show.
Our first pieces are framed and ready to go.
More information on the show will follow.
You may see posters up around the school.
Invitations will go out to classes, families and school staff.
With the return of term 4 the children will need to wear their Hats and sunscreen again at afterschool care.
We are managing to find some new indoor games to play on the wet days.
Our current favourite is “Poison Ball”
Last week: Art show creations, origami, melt beads, writing scripts and putting on performances for others,
basketball, down ball and soccer.
Next Week: we will have activities based on individual child’s choices.
We will continue this for the term so every child has a turn of choice of the day.
