Principals Report

It was great to see so many families at our Christmas concert last night.  It was very hot but our students had a fabulous time. The joy of Christmas is about being together, helping each other and being present for one another.  Last night was a wonderful example of this.  Thank you
We raised $599 through our Zooper Dooper sales which will go towards the funding for a new playground.

We had a wonderful Orientation day yesterday. Our  students had the opportunity to meet with their new teachers, meet new friends and be in their new learning space. Often our students feel excitement, joy, nervousness and worry with the changes they have in front of them. It is extremely important  to acknowledge these feelings but then support and nurture our students to feel hopeful and positive about the changes. Our teachers have worked extremely hard to consider what each student needs to be successful for 2024.

As families are leaving us at the end of the year I would like to acknowledge and thank you for being part of our community. I hope you will always have fond memories of your time at Sacred Heart. We also farewell staff, Matt Dwyer and Brennan Mills. They have been a much valued part of the Sacred Heart community and we thank them for all they have given during their time with us and wish them well in their future endeavours.

We also wish both Nada Nolen and Lois Stiles well during their time of leave and look forward to their return in 2025

Unfortunately Mrs Heather Keenan will be away for the remaining weeks of term.  Heather had a fall last Sunday and has injured her upper right arm and shoulder.  Heather has had surgery this week and will begin her healing and rehabilitation over the next couple of months. Fingers crossed Heather will be back with us at the beginning of the new school year. Please keep Heather in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for all of your support this 2023 school year.  I look forward to working with all of you in the new year.

May each of you know the beautiful gift
that you are during this most Holy Season

I would like to wish all our families, staff and school community a happy and blessed Christmas and a safe and relaxing holiday with your loved ones.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to watch over our school community and bless us always.

Take care Everyone

Catholic Identity

Just a reminder that you are all invited to attend our end of year Mass on Friday at 10 am in the MPB.
This is always a beautiful Mass and a special way to celebrate all the achievements  and success of the year.
As the year comes to an end I would like to thank all the children and their families for their support this year. Finally after four years we are up to date with our sacraments and we will revert to our regular timetable of Reconciliation in Year three and Confirmation Eucharist in Year Four next year. I recently caught up with our soon to be Parish Priest Fr Junjun and he is very excited to be joining us in Yarrawonga and is keen to meet all the children and families of Sacred Heart.
All the blessings of Christmas to you all and may you have a safe and restful break. I look forward to walking with you all in 2024.

If you need care from the 2nd of January 2024, the YMCA Yarrawonga College program could help you.

Reminder: Hats are a must have item at aftercare. Children without hats will be limited to playing in the undercover area. Many children leave their hats in their classroom, so a spare old hat kept in their bags would be fine for our program.

A Fond Farewell: We were sad to say goodbye to Teagan, who has been working with us for 2 years. She is now a qualified teacher and will begin work next year at the P-12 school in Yarrawonga. We wish her all the best.

OXFAM international: We have been talking about ways we can help the community: for our end of year community outreach we are working with OXFAM to provide live stock for families. We have surpassed our original goal. We wanted to help three families and have now helped 5. Thank you to everyone who contributed it has been a great project for the children to be involved in.

For the local community:
Our Christmas cards to the local community heroes and helpers: doctors, nurses, teachers, fireman, ambulance. police, hospital and charity shops are ready to be delivered.

Last of all an open letter from the children to all the school families:
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Merry Christmas and happy new year
We hope you get lots of presents and do lots of swimming
We will see everyone again next year
See you all again in 2024
